The Ministry of Health reported 7,370 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity rate of 10.78% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 68,129 PCR tests and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 13.9%.
According to the health authority, the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 29% and 93% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, it is noted that two regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and one has done so in the last two weeks.
Of the 7,370 new cases, 31% are diagnosed by antigen test, 46% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 20% of those reported are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 24% due to antigen, 43% due to BAC and 17% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Metropolitan, Valparaíso O’Higgins and Maule.
The Metropolitana region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Valparaíso, Atacama, and Maule regions.
According to today’s report, of the total number of new cases of coronavirus, 3,891 correspond to symptomatic people and 960 do not present symptoms. In addition, 2,519 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the disease in the country reaches 3,693,241. Of that total, 34,243 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,600,098.
As for the deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), a failure in the fiber optic system is reported, so today, Sunday, May 29, no deaths are reported. The total number of deaths associated with the virus amounts to 57,877 in the country, just like yesterday.
To date, 130 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 83 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 333 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 68,129 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 38,491,988 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 10.78% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 13.9%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 28 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,337 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 46%, leaving a total of 1,021 beds available for use.
