Since the beginning of the pandemic, 26,599,593 people have been infected by Covid-19 in Brazil. In 24 hours, 66,583 disease cases were recorded. Yesterday (6), the information system of the Ministry of Health recorded 26,533,010 accumulated cases.
The number of cases under follow-up is 3,120,320. The term is given to designate cases reported in the last 14 days that were neither discharged nor progressed to death.
The total number of lives lost to the pandemic reached 632,621. Between yesterday and today (7), health authorities confirmed 428 deaths. Yesterday, the panel accounted for 632,193 accumulated deaths.
There are still 3,177 deaths under investigation, recorded due to the fact that there are cases in which the patient died, but the investigation of the cause demands further examinations and procedures.
As of this Monday, 22,846,652 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the country. The number corresponds to 85.9% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
The data is in the ministry’s daily update. It consolidates the information sent by municipal and state health departments on cases and deaths associated with the disease.
States
According to the balance, at the top of the ranking of states with the most deaths from covid-19 recorded so far are São Paulo (159,615), Rio de Janeiro (70,234), Minas Gerais (57,894), Paraná (41,450) and Rio Grande do Sul (37,185).
The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the pandemic are Acre (1,899), Amapá (2,059), Roraima (2,105), Tocantins (4,021) and Sergipe (6,135).
Vaccination
Until this Monday, 366.1 million doses were applied against covid-19, with 167.4 million referring to the first dose and 153.2 million to the second dose or single dose. In all, 42.2 million people have already received the booster dose.
