In the last hours, the confirmation of the formalization of Cendoya for three crimes of unnamed abuse of functions as an author was known: shredding documents of the agency, leaking of the criminal complaint from the URSEC to Cendoya, and the authorization of a Soriano radio and another in Salto at the request of the former chief.

Gabriel Lombide, former president of the URSEC, was also formalized for an unnamed crime of functions; María Luján Varela, former secretary of Cendoya, for two crimes of unnamed abuse of functions as co-author; and Óscar Mecol, former general secretary, for an unnamed crime of functions.

The incident occurred in June 2020 when a former URSEC official entered the agency’s headquarters, removed and allegedly destroyed documentation from the General Secretariat in a shredding machine.

From then on, an investigation arose that led criminal lawyer Jorge Barrera to file a criminal complaint on behalf of the new URSEC administration, and the Prosecutor’s Office charged three officials after the leak of information from the criminal complaint was proven. to relatives of Cendoya, who then sent information to the former hierarch.

Other cases are the authorization of a radio station in Soriano that was in violation and another radio station in Salto that broadcast with a power ten times higher than that allowed.
