The mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, attributed this Thursday the donation of materials that the mayor sent to the Broad Front to use in the corre-walk scheduled for March 6 –an activity that was planned as collection towards the referendum campaign for the 135 articles of the Law of Urgent Consideration (LUC) – as a “personal” mistake of an official.
“It was a mistake of a person. When we detected the error we immediately spoke and he understood it. We called the FA and that was unleashed because it was not correct, “he admitted, after the information released this Thursday by El Observador.
Cosse stressed that, in his opinion, the misunderstanding it was already settledand this is how he expressed himself before the press: “The administration cannot generate donations to any political institution, of course, it was unleashed, it was solved and for me the topic is overor”.
The mayor pointed out that the worker had not received any order from the authorities, but that he made a mistake after speaking with another person linked to the political force. In addition, she clarified that he was not sanctioned, despite the inconvenience.
“A person told us that this was happening. We couldn’t believe it. It was investigated and we got to the person who had made the mistake. We spoke to him, it was explained that it was a very serious mistake, we called the FA and turned back”, insisted.
“It was a mistake that a person made talking to another person from the FA, and that was fixed, I ordered it to stop. Several of us spoke with the person and he conceptually understood where his mistake was,” he added.
