Santo Domingo.-The Fire Department of the National District confirmed the death of at least one person during a fire that occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the headquarters of the television company «sun channel«, located in the Ensanche Naco, in the capital.
General José Luis Frómeta Herasme, head of the Fire Department of the National District, said that other people were transferred to hospitals, some of them “in critical condition.”
The person confirmed as deceased is Carmito Reyes, known as “Barahona”, according to his sister, Ana Julia Reyes, who explained that the victim worked as a painter and that he was working together with other people from the “La Yuca” neighborhood, in the Popcorn.

Ana Julia said that her brother had returned from Venezuela and that he was doing painting work in the building, together with other colleagues, when the fire started, around 4:00 in the afternoon.
One of the burned was taken to a health center in critical condition, and according to reports collected from locals, he would have died during the route.
A police agent at the scene, who requested his name not be used, reported that seven people were working on painting in the building, located on Boys Scouts Street.
