The drinking water that the Agency releases for public consumption is totally safe from the point of view of its microbiological, bacteriological and virological quality.
It establishes without exception the national Drinking Water Quality Standards and the Quality Guides of the World Health Organization, and is permanently controlled by the Central Laboratory and the 9 Regional Laboratories.
In them, more than 8 million analyzes of samples extracted annually are carried out in the 733 urban centers in which it provides service, thus monitoring the quality of the billion liters of drinking water that are produced and distributed every day.
The public disclosure of false information in relation to the quality of the water of the public supply service constitutes not only an irresponsible act that can induce the population to resort to uncontrolled water sources, but also an illegitimate conduct, reserving the Administration the right to start of all the actions that by law correspond, tending to claim the responsibility of those who, negligently or intentionally, make those false statements.
