Nearly 400 activities were carried out during 2024 at the Cerro Largo University House
Some were organized by the University of the Republic itself and others by different institutions in the environment.
“Approximately 400 activities were carried out at the Cerro Largo University House, which not only had to do with university proposals but also with many other institutions, from INAU, MIDES, CAMCEL, ASSE, MSP, MGAP, Departmental Inspection of Schools and the CAIF Plan among others” detailed the Mr. Mauricio De Souza.
“Book presentations were held, some organized by us, but also some that were organized by institutions or people who requested space for these activities” pointed out the Director of CUCEL.
“10 Permanent Education Courses were held such as Wood Construction and Basic Forestry Training that had a significant demand” he stated.
De Souza highlighted the high participation that most of the proposals had from people who live within the department, as well as from neighboring departments, which marks a regionalization of the activities. “That was one of the main objectives that we set out in our Work Plan when we assumed management. “We wanted to strengthen the presence of the House in the department and in the region” reminded THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
“Many Extension activities were also carried out in inland towns, from what was done in Arévalo, Centurión, Cañas and Río Branco. This was achieved in coordination with teachers who carry out activities here, from the Equine Production Technologist which is shared with UTU with classes taught at the IAE, but the children do many activities together with the teachers inside in some of the activities. equestrian” he pointed out. “We had the agroforestry PDU. Now we have 4 teachers who are based here with the topic of research on equine issues with Extension activities and talks. That’s how we went to Tres Islas” he added.
“We are also carrying out actions together with other institutions, which is very important for us, from the educational agenda with the Departmental Board where Mayor Professor Magallanes is” recognized the Director of the House of the University of Cerro Largo.
