Officials of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) captured three individuals allegedly involved in the terrorist attack that occurred in two commercial premises in Maracaibo, Zulia state.
The director of the Cicpc, commissioner douglas rico reported through his Instagram account that it was “a joint operation of the Zulia State Delegation, the Organized Crime Directorate, the Anti-Extortion Division and the Coordination against Organized Crime Maracaibo of the Cicpc, which made it possible to identify, locate and detain three men involved in the terrorist attack that took place on February 18.”
The first violent act occurred at 8:30 a.m., at the Tu Finca Express butcher shop, located in the La Paz urbanization, Cecilio Acosta road corridor, and at 10:30 a.m., the Samba Market was attacked, at 78 Dr. Portillo street with 15 Delicias avenue .
The detainees and their participation in the attacks
He specified that the investigations made it possible to compare the physical and physiognomic features, and according to the results, they proceeded to the arrest of Jhon Dervis Herrera Rubio (33), Delvis Manuel González Paz (29), and Jeffri Alfonso Bruges Ávila (21).
He explained that Herrera Rubio served as the driver of the blue motorcycle, used to transport the individual who shot at the business premises. While González Paz coordinated the vehicles, the participants and the prior planning site to materialize the criminal act.
For his part, Jeffri Alfonso Bruges Ávila (21), an officer of the Zulia State Police, was in charge of organizing the sale of the motorcycle used in this terrorist act.
It was also possible to locate Jean Carlos Govea Fernández, nicknamed Manita, who was in charge of guarding the criminal organization’s operations center, where they hid the clothing of the shooter and of the person who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the event. He died while resisting his capture.
Looking for other criminals involved
He indicated that due to these facts, the following are requested: Junior Andrés Báez (33), material author, who fired savagely against the people who were in the premises; Khaled Rangel Montiel Herrera, alias El Viejo, who transferred Junior to another blue motorcycle, driven by Jhon; and José Antonio Márquez Morales, alias El Caracas, who ordered the terrorist attack.
As evidence, the motorcycle used on the day of the attack, firearms and the clothing of the thugs to commit the act were recovered.
