Chinese company Yutong delivers rice donation to Cuba

The Food Trading Company and the Chinese company Yutong signed today, in the capital, the act of delivery of a donation of 300 tons of rice, in the Havana 1 Wholesale Territorial Company, as part of the actions of the Covid prevention plan. -19.

13 containers containing 50-kilogram sacks of said premium quality cereal were received, which were distributed in the warehouses of San Miguel del Padrón, Cotorro and Marianao to be used exclusively for social consumption, schools and hospitals.

Ariel Tengfei, regional manager for the Caribbean of Yutong, referred to the more than 15 years of cooperation between the company and the Cuban government, and explained that the rice was purchased in Colombia for a value of 210 thousand dollars to support the supply of food on the island and alleviate the effects it suffered during the pandemic.

As he explained, the delivery wanted to be done by the end of the year, but it was not possible due to transportation problems; however, he hopes that it can be put to good use and that the relationship between both parties will be stronger.

For her part, Grisel Ávila Díaz, Deputy Minister of Internal Trade, thanked the donation and the confidence to continue betting on the Cuban market, in addition to highlighting Yutong’s contribution in improving interprovincial public passenger transportation, becoming the main for these purposes in the country.

He also recalled the donations received during the most complex moments of the pandemic, such as medical supplies, means of protection and ambulances, destined for hospital and isolation centers, in support of the control and treatment of the disease.

Cuba and China maintain close ties of cooperation in different branches of the economy, and proof of this is the Habana Graphic Company, which is advancing as part of a loan from the Asian government and Yutong, which is also interested in the manufacture and use of hybrid buses. in the country.
