The Chambers of Commerce of Cuba and Madrid committed this Monday through an agreement to exchange information and assistance on tourism, trade and services.
The agreement was signed by Antonio Carricarte, president of the Cuban institution, and Ángel Asensio, head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid, according to Prensa Latina.
From this alliance emanates in Madrid the Business Forum “Cuba: Perspectives and challenges of the market”, a space to present the business opportunities and challenges of the Cuban market.

It is also “an x-ray of the business environment of the Caribbean country, the investment possibilities for wholesale trade, priority projects or foreign investment in the food industry,” the Madrid Chamber of Commerce told the agency.
“Cuba is a country with a very active foreign policy,” said the first vice president of the Madrid Chamber, Eva Serrano, quoted by 20 minutes.
And he added that in recent years the island has intensified business, both with its traditional partners and with the rest of the international community. In addition, he recognized that the European Union persists as Cuba’s main commercial export partner.
It is then, Serrano said, a “friendly relationship” fostered after the political dialogue and cooperation agreement agreed in 2015 and signed in 2019 between Spain and Cuba.
Carricarte pointed out that Spain is the third commercial partner of Cuba, fourth in tourism issuance, the first foreign investor, and that it has 256 commercial representation offices.
“The Chamber of Cuba asks Spanish businessmen for support to promote renewable energies, highlighting bioelectric, wind, solar photovoltaic and printed circuits of the heat exchanger,” said the manager.
Finally, he invited the Spanish business community to promote tourism through the construction and marketing of hotel capacities, theme and marine parks, the development of spas and the promotion of agriculture with pork and chicken meat, feed, fruits, vegetables, agro-industry and coffee production.
