In the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá; of the undersecretary of the same portfolio, Manuel Monsalve and the Minister of Defense, Maya Fernández, the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved a new extension of the State of Constitutional Exception in the southern part of the country.
Specifically, the new extension requested by the Executive to Congress was supported by the Lower House with 113 votes in favor, 23 against and seven abstentions. During the instance, the rejections to the initiative occurred in Approve Dignity and the UDI.
In the midst of the discussion of the extension, the deputy Diego Ibáñez (CS), summoned the opposition and declared “what a bad memory of several parliamentarians who today are accusing this government of bad results, when the bad results were with former President Piñera” .
After its approval in the Lower House, the measure goes to the Senate, where it will be discussed whether or not to extend the State of Exception for the region of La Araucanía and the provinces of Arauco and Biobío, in the Biobío region. It is expected that it will be debated around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11.
