“Previously, the perforation of the licenses was controlled every year, now we only see if the registration is valid for five years,” explained Inspector General Adolfo Ortega, head of Public Relations for the Highway Patrol.
In addition, the Caminera does not have the power to sanction the lack of perforation of the registry, Ortega clarified in an interview with Radio Nacional.
The inspectors look at the good condition of the vehicle, compliance with traffic rules and that the registration is still valid.
Licenses expire on March 31 of each year and drivers must go to their municipalities to update their documentation, in order to avoid fines from the respective Administration.
