Cabello: Venezuela was not the one who kicked the dialogue table in Mexico but the United States

Regarding the resumption of dialogue in Mexico between the opposition and the government, Diosdado Cabello said that it is a “great victory of the Revolution”, since it was not the Maduro administration that rose from the negotiating table.

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Diosdado Cabello, reiterated this Monday, May 9, that the dialogue “is a great victory of the Revolution”, since it has been since the administration of Nicolás Maduro that it has been promoted, but that is not yet recognized by some sectors.

“There is no speech in which the President (Maduro) does not call for dialogue and some still do not want to acknowledge it. There are still sectors that do not understand the situation we are facing, dialogue is our greatest victory»he said at a press conference.

He recalled that Venezuela was not the one who “kicked” the dialogue table in Mexico but rather the United States, make “decisions against the country, attacking our country and added that” before that we set a position that is still firm, we will not sit down again until the conditions are not the ones agreed upon, “he said.

Regarding the statements made by Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly in 2015, Cabello affirmed that the return to the negotiating table “does not depend on Juan Guaidó” and referred that “when you listen to Juanito Alimaña saying that we are ready for dialogue in Mexico, he is speaking gamelote».

He questioned the role of the Catholic Church in Venezuela, when Cardinal Baltazar Porras recently asked not to lift sanctions against the country, but rather guarantees were offered from the high government. He rejected the Cardinal’s recent visit to the United States, calling him just another member of the opposition.

“Porras, a political leader of the opposition, went to Miami to ask that sanctions continue against our country, that they deepen them,” said Cabello.

On the other hand, he asked that the regimes of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua not be excluded from the Summit of the Americas, to be held in Los Angeles in June. “The Summit of the Americas or what it is trying to do right now, it is a meeting of the United States with a group of countries. It is not the Summit of the Americas. There is no reason for Venezuela, Cuba or Nicaragua to be excluded from those meetings just because the United States decides so.”

The government of US President Joe Biden decided not to invite the representatives of these regimes for not “respecting the Democratic Charter of the Americas.”

Venezuelan migrants in Colombia

When asked about the recent statements by the Colombian presidential candidate, Gustavo Petro, about reestablishing relations with Venezuela if they win the electoral contest, Cabello replied that Petro’s position is “logical” because they are neighboring countries.

“I just hope they don’t kill him, hopefully. That the narco-government of Iván Duque does not make the mistake of assassinating him. Nor to any other candidate », he said.

He also criticized the government of Iván Duque again, pointing out that Colombia has become “the country that nobody wants” and that it should rather seek to reestablish relations with all the countries of Latin America instead of “join a thing called NATO” instead of strengthening Unasur (an organization created under the auspices of Hugo Chávez with friendly or allied nations.

He stressed that President Duque “sells himself to the world” as the one who is helping Venezuelans who have gone to live in his country, when migrants have been victims of insecurity. “Do you know how many Venezuelans have been killed in Colombia? From 2016 to 2021, 1,279 Venezuelans were murdered and they go to the world asking for money in the name of Venezuela. Whoever receives that country is going to receive a disaster from the current Colombian government,” said Cabello.

Renewal of the PSUV

Disodado Cabello also reported that the national directorate of the PSUV will begin a process of simplification and renovation of its parochial, municipal and state structure of the party. He explained that it is planned, as a main task, the renewal of the authorities and revision of the bases.

“We are going to go to all the streets of Venezuela, more than 285,000 streets of Venezuela, where the United Socialist Party of Venezuela has an active presence, has the presence of leaders, cadres and militancy in each of those streets,” he said. .
