Cabello denies that security forces tried to arrest Juan Pablo Guanipa

Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) said the opposition does not have the minutes of the presidential elections of July 28 that show the victory of Edmundo González Urrutia, candidate of the Unitary Platform

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, denied that state security forces attempted to capture opposition leader Juan Pablo Guanipa on July 28.

“Juan Pablo, nobody was looking for you. Don’t go around singing that they couldn’t catch you, you little figure,” Cabello said on Wednesday, July 28, during his program Con el mazo dando.

Cabello, also Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, made the statement hours after the Con Vzla command denounced the arrest and transfer to Helicoide of the Convergencia coordinator Biagio Piliari at the end of an opposition mobilization called by María Corina Machado, in which Guanipa participated, who also warned that he was being followed by unknown individuals upon leaving the activity.

The political leader said that the opposition does not have the minutes of the presidential elections of July 28 that prove the victory of Edmundo González Urrutia, candidate of the Unitary Platform. He accused the opposition of being irresponsible for making citizens believe that the documents published on a website were real.

“The TSJ issued a ruling and it is responsible for the entire process once, at its request, a dispute was filed to verify what was happening. If I had not agreed with the result, what I should do is file an administrative claim. Show the evidence. Why didn’t they show the minutes? They don’t have them, they never had them, they deceived their own people,” he said.

She also warned that state security forces will not tolerate political sectors blocking land routes, referring to demonstrations called by the opposition wing led by María Corina Machado.

“Don’t say you weren’t warned. A few days ago they towed a truck that didn’t have papers. They haven’t gone to look for it, nobody has claimed it,” he said.
