The Brazilian economy has one of the best performances in the post-pandemic scenario, said today (22), in Porto Seguro (BA), President Jair Bolsonaro. At an event to commemorate the 522nd anniversary of the discovery of Brazil, he declared that the country is resisting external difficulties, caused by the covid-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
“You know what is happening in the world, for reasons even external to our will, with a war 10 thousand kilometers away, but the consequences come to our homeland. The country, not only in the pandemic, but as in this period of external problems, in the economy is one of the best in the world. Let’s overcome obstacles. We are showing, more and more, what Brazil can be”, said the president.
In his speech, Bolsonaro called for the union of the Brazilian people to face difficulties. “There is no difference between me and any of you. We really have the same goal, the same blood, the same race, the same nationality. And we want, more and more, to unite our peoples. We don’t want to preach the division between us, between skin color, options, regions, between whatever,” he added.
For the president, the Brazilian people are capable of selling obstacles in a country he called rich. “The most important event is to celebrate the birthday of this young Brazil. Only 522 years old, but it is a very rich, very prosperous young Brazil, which overcomes obstacles and challenges. In particular, for the brave people they have and for their faith”, commented Bolsonaro.
The president arrives in Brasilia today. In the morning, Bolsonaro was in Rio de Janeiro. He participated in a military ceremony at the Santa Cruz Air Base, alluding to the Day of Fighter Aviation. The ceremony marked the incorporation of the Swedish F-39 Gripen aircraftnewcomers to Brazil.
