Brazil exceeds 660,000 deaths from Covid-19

Brazil exceeded 600,000 deaths on Friday and touched 30 million infections since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to data from health authorities, in the last 24 hours, 245 deaths from the coronavirus were reported, to add 600,002 deaths from Covid-19, which makes Brazil the second country with the most deaths in the world. by coronavirus, only surpassed by the US.

On the last day, 27,270 new infections were recorded, bringing the total number of Covid cases registered in the South American giant to 29,975,165, the third country with the most infections in the world after the US and India.

The weekly average of victims of Covid-19 fell in the last week to 205 per day, its lowest level since January 18, when it fell to 183 daily deaths.

For its part, the average number of cases fell from 189,526 infections per day in early February to 24,701 daily infections, its lowest level since January 7 (23,243 daily cases).

The drop in the numbers of deaths and infections is attributed to the progress of the vaccination campaign in Brazil, where 161 million people already have the complete cycle of immunization, which is equivalent to 75.6 percent of the population.
