Boxing primer Semillero de Campeones is successfully carried out in the field of the Libertadores

The field of Los Libertadores in the district of Betania was the venue for the Seed of Champions event, organized by the Mayor’s Office of Panama with its sports department, with the endorsement of the Olympic Boxing Federation of Panama (FEDEBOP) where a total of of 13 fights, 12 male and 1 female, being to the liking of the community that from the stands and their balconies watched the development of each of the fights carried out.

3 bouts were held in the men’s category at 54kg:

Reinaldo Monroe defeated Yulios Campos in a tight split decision, Roderick Rodríguez took the victory over José Mendoza by RSCI in the second round over José Mendoza, who could not continue due to a nasal injury and Abel González fell by split decision against Jan Ortega.

The women’s fight of the day was starred by Yarelli Justavino and Yaquelin Armuelles in the 54kg category, in the end the victory went to Armuelles in a disputed match that he won by split decision.

In the 60kg category there were three fights:
Yan Molina achieved a unanimous decision victory over Eduardo Arrocha and Daniel González defeated Allen Mendoza by split decision, while Edwin Winsdom defeated Abraham Aizpurúa by RSC in the third round.

At the 63.5kg weight, Ronald Bethancourt defeated Jaime Hidalgo by split decision and Adrián Morales defeated Joel Ruiz by unanimous decision.

In the 69kg category, Anthony Gordon fell by split decision against Gabriel Quintana and Luis Acevedo won by split decision against Cristina Peña and Michael Rondón defeated Richard Trejos by unanimous decision and the fight between Ricardo Cristóbal closed the role of Seedbed of Champions. and Joel Simmonds in the 91 kg category where in the end Cristóbal won by split decision.

It should be noted that each boxer, after finishing his fight, took a bag of food products courtesy of the Mayor’s Office of Panama as an incentive for his performance in the ring and thus further encourage young people to practice sports in the communities.

At the end of the event, the 3 best fights were awarded by the Mayor’s Office of Panama, there was Lic. Alexis Gómez, from the Sub-Directorate of Sports and the Honorable representative, Julio Bedoya from the Community Board of Betania who delivered bonuses to the boxers Reinaldo Monroe and Yulio Campos, Yareli Justavino and Yaquelin Armuelles, and for the juniors Joel Ruíz and Adrián Morales.

The next Seedbed of Champions event will be held on March 5 at the sports field located in Plaza Amador.
