Eduardo Battistini, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Interim Government of Juan Guaidó in Colombia, says that they hope that the first to benefit from this measure will be the border inhabitants and that the impact will be on their economy, their quality of life and their human rights
Eduardo Battistini, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Interim Government of Juan Guaidó in Colombia, issued a statement through his account in Twitter in reference to the reopening of the border between Colombia and Venezuela, where he states that although the main focus that has been given is economic, in this area “there are more doubts than certainties.”
It maintains that business with the Venezuelan State requires compliance with the legal framework, especially in “international regulations against money laundering that are not complied with in Venezuela and would place both Colombian businessmen and the State at serious risk.”
Battistini calls for legal certainty, clear rules and respect to ensure that the reopening is beneficial.
Today we saw an act on the border that generates positive expectations for the border population of both countries, for the economic unions and some political sectors.

In the same way, Eduardo Battistini says that they hope that the first to benefit from this measure will be the border dwellers and that the impact will be on their economy, their quality of life and human rights.
In reference to the mafias and criminal groups that operate in this border area, Battistini believes that they will not disappear on their own, but must be accompanied “by a security policy that can make them pay justice.”
For Eduardo Battistini, the absence of Nicolás Maduro at the opening of the border between Colombia and Venezuela is striking; since the measure to close it came from him.
