A subject was detained by officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps of the state of Zulia after stealing data, through a platform, with false advertisements from the Bank of Venezuela.
The cybercriminal is identified as Marcos José Pérez Gómez (22 years old).
The case began after receiving multiple complaints at the police headquarters, which activated the coordination investigations, who after a series of field investigations, telematic analysis and expertise, managed to arrest Pérez Gómez.
The detainee was engaged in phishing through the social networks Facebook and Instagram with BDV advertisements. In this sense, the man promoted credit cards from Colombia which, in addition, redirected to a page similar to the official BDV page.
Authorities placed the case at the disposal of the Seventh Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office of the state of Zulia, Cabimas extension.
