Authorities seized nearly 5 tons of marijuana in Amazonas

The national anti-drug superintendent (SUNAD), M/G Danny Ferrer Sandrea, affirmed that Venezuela remains strong and unwavering in the fight against the scourge of drugs.

In a joint effort between the State security agencies and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the seizure of about 5 tons of marijuana was achieved in the state of Amazonas, reported the national Anti-Drug Superintendent (SUNAD), M/G Danny Ferrer. Sandrea.

According to a press release from the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Ferrer Sandrea explained that the uniformed officers detected, in the Caño Caname sector of the Atabapo municipality of the aforementioned entity, 162 bags in which more than 4,800 wrappers were kept. of the aforementioned narcotic.

Likewise, the senior military officer explained that this action, framed in Operation Fog, involved the Strategic Comprehensive Defense Region (REDI) Guayana, the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) Amazonas, troops assigned to the Anti-Drug Command and the Zone Command of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the Rapid Reaction Units (URRA) of Combat of Anzoátegui and Carabobo, in the company of prosecutors from the Public Ministry.

The highest authority of the Sunad affirmed that Venezuela remains strong and unwavering in the fight against the scourge of drugs. “For this 2025 we are repowered and with the clear mission of continuing to bring together the efforts of all security bodies hand in hand with Popular Power, to guarantee a happy, safe and drug-free territory,” he stated.
