ASSE asked the general management to investigate the Artigas chief denounced for clientelism

The decision was made at the end of the session on Wednesday based on internal complaints and press information released by The Observer and M24.

The Observer reported on tuesday that the coordinator of the northern subregional of ASSE, Carla Rodríguez de Almeida, ordered the cancellation of a call to make direct contracts, and that she was later denounced for workplace harassment by the administrative director of the Artigas RAP, Daniela Márquez.

At the end of April, four calls were canceled to enter nursing assistants in the polyclinics of two towns: Baltasar Brum and Tomás Gomensoro. This cancellation was the latest in a series of incidents that occurred in recent months and that are pointed out by Márquez -in his complaint- as episodes of political clientelism since Rodríguez de Almeida, the main ASSE leader in the north, works together to the nationalist deputy Valentina Dos Santos.

“Everything he does is based on his interests, he is doing party politics with the RAP of Artigas together with the deputy Valentina Dos Santos,” says the complaint filed on Tuesday, May 23, with the ASSE Technical Commission on Workplace Harassment.

The document also indicates that the calls were canceled to make direct appointments and that they asked him to put aside “pending work” to fulfill his “political-partisan purposes”, in reference to a request regarding the election of young people from the Party National.
