The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) reported that from June 20 to 22, Army and National Guard personnel seized eight clandestine laboratories in the states of Sinaloa and Durango, an area of influence of the Sinaloa Cartel, dedicated to the preparation of synthetic drug.
On July 20, in the town of Jala, municipality of Tamazula, Durango, Sedena and National Guard personnel seized 650 liters of toluene; 250 liters phenylbutyronitrile; 50 liters of methanol; 350 liters diphenylformamidine; 200 liters of dibenzylamine; 8 burners and four organic synthesis reactors.
In the town of Las Juntas, municipality of Culiacán, Sinaloa, they seized a property where there were 1,725 kilograms of caustic soda; 400 liters of benzyl alcohol; 800 liters of methyl alcohol; 11 capacitors; 700 kilograms of sodium cyanide and 9 organic synthesis reactors.
On the same day, military and GN personnel entered a property in the town of Corral Viejo, municipality of Culiacán, where they seized 225 kilograms of ammonia and an organic synthesis reactor.
On July 21, elements of the Army and the GN located and secured a narco-laboratory in El Higueral, municipality of Culiacán, with 2,500 liters of acetone; four organic synthesis reactors; 400 kilograms of caustic soda and two capacitors.
In another incident in the town of Corral Viejo, municipality of Culiacán, they also entered a property where they located 1,160 liters of hydrochloric acid and two organic synthesis reactors, while in the town of Santa Ana de Culiacán, they seized nine organic synthesis reactors and three distillers.
Later, on July 22, elements of the Army and the GN discovered and secured a narco-laboratory in the town of Los Cedros, Culiacán, where they found 600 liters of acetone; and organic synthesis reactor and a condenser, while in the town of Santa Anita, municipality of Cosalá, Sinaloa, they located another property with six organic synthesis reactors.
Sedena said that these actions were derived from intelligence work carried out by the Army in conjunction with the National Guard, for which they constituted Inter-institutional Operations Bases.
