The governor met this Thursday with the director of the Office of Planning and Budget, Isaac Alfie, to find out the status of each project and to find out why they have not materialized.
“What interests me the most is being able to carry out an action plan and follow-up on how these items are being executed, so that they effectively reach their recipients,” said the vice president.
He explained that “the scaffolding still needs to be streamlined” for that to materialize.
“You have to have the tools and the dynamics so that the execution is as fast as possible,” said Argimón.
He added that a kind of “specific management” is needed to address this issue and that a good instance will be reached because the Government is focused on the issue.
At the end of September, it became known that poverty increased in the first half of the year, according to a report released by the National Statistics Institute (INE). Poverty stood at 10.7%, with an increase of half a percentage point compared to the same period last year (10.2%), according to the official report.
According to INE data, child poverty stood at 22.5% in the first half of the year in children up to six years.
