New judicial setback for Sebastián Villa, from Boca Juniors, for alleged sexual abuse of a young woman

An Argentine prosecutor requested the arrest of Colombian soccer player Sebastián Villa, a Boca Juniors player, in the case investigating the alleged sexual abuse of a young woman in mid-2021judicial sources informed the local press.
The request must be analyzed and resolved in the coming days by the Judge of Guarantees 2 of Lomas de Zamora, Javier Maffucci Moore.
The request was made by the prosecutor Vanesa González, in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 3 of Esteban Echeverría (province of Buenos Aires), specializing in family and gender violence, sexual abuse and crimes related to human trafficking.
Villa’s lawyer, Martín Apolo, had requested release from prison for his client the day after the complaint was made.
That request had not been answered.
Villa, 26, who had already been denounced for gender violence by his ex-partner in 2021, was accused on May 13 of this year by another woman of sexual abuse with carnal access, aggravated by the injuries.
The complainant maintained that she was abused by the soccer player in June 2021. The Colombian has the support of Boca Juniors, who did not sanction him or remove him from the squad. Villa will start this afternoon against Ferro in the round of 32 of the Argentine Cup.
