Antel’s Board of Directors approved this Wednesday a increase for fixed telephony rates of 2.65%. The increase will take effect from January 1st.

This Thursday it will finish formalizing a 2% increase in the mobile internet rate and 2.65% in fixed internet, as reported to The Observer the director for the Broad Front, Daniel Larrosa.

The average increase (taking those three rates plus other services) will be 2%.

This year Antel had not made rate adjustments.

The increases had the negative vote of Larrosa. The director received the technical reports this Wednesday and therefore asked to postpone the decision for a week, but his motion was not supported by the rest of the directors.

Antel’s announcement is added to those made by UTE and OSE.

In the first case, rates will have an average increase of 3.5%. In the second, the increase for the potable water rate will be 6.7%.
