Parliamentarians of the National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday a draft Agreement in support of the events that occurred last weekend in Tejerías, Aragua state.
The president of Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, during Tuesday’s session created a special commission headed by deputies Ricardo Molina and Luis Eduardo Martínez to attend to the needs of that sector. He also announced that the deputies will be accompanied by deputies from the state of Aragua.
Rodríguez made a reflection during his intervention in the plenary, he said that when observing the suffering of the people caused by the tragedy in Las Tejerías, he remembered past events about dehumanization and solidarity events.
The president of parliament expressed that he recalls the dehumanization shown by the United States to Puerto Rico in a similar situation “a former president throwing toilet paper at citizens of Puerto Rico, subjected to the rigors of the climate emergency.”
remembered some of the past tragedies that has traveled the country and highlighted the event when more than 120 Venezuelans were left homeless in Caracas, in the La Pedrera sector in the Antímano parish, from where they rescued more than 1,300 families.
«In the months of September, October and November of 2010, Venezuela was subjected to terrible rigors of rain, of such intensity that they generated in those moments of mid-September, we could not evaluate the magnitude of the tragedy, and those September rains More than 120,000 people must have been affected, only in the city of Caracas.” she remembered.
“A revolutionary must not lose humanity, that is what Chávez said, after the events in Cumanacoa, and I say it for humanity and the need that today we should be here debating laws and not there, helping people,” he said.
He reiterated that humanity must be maintained in the face of disaster, “that is our main obligation and not raise our hands just to approve an agreement,” he said.
That is why he ordered the deputies to include themselves in an orderly manner in the process of helping the people of The Tejerías. He also shared the satisfaction he feels for the encouragement and support given by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during his visit to the affected people.
Then the deputy Ricardo Molina, made a report of the situation. He expressed his condolences and solidarity to the people of The Tejerías; and reported that he is with the political team deployed in the affected areas in order to guarantee the timely support required by the community.
He commented that so far there have been 36 deaths and 56 missing.
“32 pieces of machinery are deployed in the area and no more than 20 trucks can enter at the same time, in terms of housing, 400 homes are already being managed in the state of Aragua for those affected, the radio signal was restored and the 92 % of the electrical system. We are sure that despite the tragedy we will win », he said.
For his part, Deputy L.Luis Eduardo Martinezhighlighted that after touring the affected areas in Las Tejerías, he was able to appreciate the representation of all public powers to serve the community.
“What we hope is that each Venezuelan affected in Las Tejerías will have their situation resolved as soon as possible. It is convenient that we learn from the tragedies, there are situations that we can avoid in the face of new tropical depressions that have been announced », he said.
