This Tuesday, a special commission was installed in the National Assembly (AN) to debate the reform of the Housing and Habitat Benefit Regime Law.
The commission will be chaired by the deputy to the AN, Rigel Sergent, who pointed out that the objective of the commission is to study the legal text to establish the inclusion and participation of the working class in the Director of the National Housing and Habitat Bank (Banavih).
“The working class presented to the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, nine petitions and one of them has to do with how the working class can participate with greater emphasis in the generation of the policies of the Great Housing Mission Venezuela. The working class raised how they could participate in the Banavih Board of Directors”, he expressed.
In this sense, he pointed out that other proposals are being evaluated to adapt the law to all instances of the Great Venezuela Housing Mission.
Among the proposals – he explained – is that Banavih can have a “greater role” in order to “diversify habitat and housing policies.”
For this, the bank will be sought to contribute to the financing of construction materials, machinery, land bank, among others.
The first discussion of the reform of the legal text is expected to take place next week.
The body is chaired by the deputy Rigel Sergent (PSUV/Dtto Capital) and is made up of parliamentarians Franklin Rondón (PSUV/Anzoátegui), Ramón Lobo (PSUV/Mérida), Ricardo Molina (PSUV/Aragua), Wills Rangel (PSUV/Nacional ), Eglée Sánchez (PSUV/Aragua), Carolina Cestari (PSUV/Dtto Capital) and Luz Coromoto Chacón (PSUV/National); refers AN press release.
Real estate scam in Lara state
On the other hand, he referred to the cases of real estate fraud that have occurred in the state of Lara, which affects approximately 600 families.
In this sense, he pointed out that it is the fourth complaint.
The commission listened to the complaints presented by those affected, listened to deputy Julio Chávez – who represents the state of Lara in Parliament – as well as to the Real Estate Chamber.
The complaint indicates that in 2007, a group of families paid for housing, however, until now, the delivery has not been made.
“This law does not put a straitjacket on the honest businessman who wants to build, but it does put a straitjacket on those who want to do fraudulent business and make Venezuelans suffer,” he stressed.
For this reason, he indicated that the commission will open an investigation procedure to clarify the facts.
Deputy Julio Chávez indicated that this scam was developed after the delivery of land to a company called Hispana CA, who were in charge of building five apartment projects, offices, and a convention center for the enjoyment of Larenses.
