The Vice Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (MIVIOT), José Batista González, in an interview with Radio Panama, made an assessment of the work of this government entity during the year
“We closed the year 2022 with an execution of 99.6% of its budget, although the resources have been limited and we would like to do more, we have been effective in what we have been given, this has represented some two thousand housing solutions in the different programs that we have within the vice-ministry of housing, which is the one that attends to the needs of families that are not subject to a bank loan”, indicated the vice-minister.
He also referred to the progress plan that was started in this government “this consists of families in need adding an economic component for the venture, in the house we build a space that is used so that they can carry out an economic activity in the neighborhood Whether it is a shoe store, a small grocery store, this allows them to have an additional income, we take this with the Authority of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (AMPYME), in our regional addresses you can submit your application and the assignment is made after verification of each case”
Regarding land titling, they hope that by 2023 they can increase the amount of titled land for the benefit of more Panamanian families “This year we have achieved the titling of more than 400 lots and we hope that by 2023 we will title a thousand more lots and Families are in charge of building their homes by self-management, we have to look for different formulas and not the traditional ones to be able to reduce this housing deficit” indicated Batista.
