This Thursday during the Lawfare Forum against Venezuela at three years after the kidnapping of the diplomatAlex Saab speaks from a federal prison in the United States and calls on governments “to prioritize our lives, no longer be patients of our pain, let’s continue this journey together towards total peace.”
For Saab, “diplomacy is a new opportunity,” while stressing that more must be done for the at least 2,500 political prisoners that exist, “I think there are many more with the audacity to apply lawfare,” he said.
Through a sound exposed during the forum, Saab acknowledged that political prisoners are at the mercy of imperialism and “like me they have suffered acts of physical and psychological torture just for wanting to defend just causes or just for wanting to force us to raise false accusations, or for defending the right to life or food”.
“Despite having political tools, we are facing a justice that annihilates reason. I have been blessed by the love of my family and the strong support of my government. A human government that above all is accompanying me. For a political prisoner, forgetfulness is deadly, ”he added.
This Thursday, at the Teresa Carreño Theater Cultural Complex, in Caracas, the El Lawfare forum against Venezuela will be held three years after the kidnapping of Alex Saab, to discuss the procedures of the United States (USA), in its claim to end constitutional governments such as Venezuela and others in America.
“From the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, the Forum begins: “The Lawfare against Venezuela three years after the kidnapping of diplomat Alex Saab”, with the presence of the human rights defender and wife of the special envoy @CamillaFSaab together with the Movement #FreeAlexSaaband national and international delegations”, published the Free Alex Saab Movement on Twitter.
It’s been 1,097 days since the kidnapping
The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, participated in the forum, who recalled that 1,097 days have passed since the kidnapping that was perpetrated against Alex Saab, a Venezuelan diplomat who in a humanitarian operation was trying to obtain and supply Venezuela with food, technology and other products that the people need in the face of the effects of the blockade.
“Alex Saab is a human being who has been denied any type of assistance, all his rights have been violated when all he was doing was looking for mechanisms to supply Venezuela with oil products and for basic companies, work that He had been doing it by mandate of the Venezuelan government,” he commented.
During his speech, Gil stressed that after the actions against Alex Saab, a violation of various international regulations and laws can be exposed.
movement against imperialism
Imperialism has never stopped attacking Venezuela and for this reason the Bolivarian Revolution has always been alert to attempts to destabilize and take over the country, for this reason the Chancellor of the Republic was emphatic in recalling that Commander Hugo Chávez when he became president of the country put together a great popular movement to counter these actions.
In this sense, and with regard to the recent statements by former President Donald Trump, Foreign Minister Gil denounced the continuous aggressions of imperialism demonstrated once again with Trump’s statements in which he confessed that during his term he intended to seize Venezuelan oil.
“Donald Trump did not act alone, we must always remember that. He did it under the umbrella of President Obama when he declared Venezuela a threat, and activated US institutions to carry out proceedings against the country. Our aggressor does not have a personal name, it is US imperialism”, he said.
Criminalize Venezuela: the objective
In the Lawfare forum against Venezuela, Three years after the kidnapping of Venezuelan diplomat Alex Saab, different national and international personalities participated in defense of the diplomat.
Such is the case of the Argentine criminal lawyer, Eugenio Saffaroni, who pointed out that the Lawfare against the diplomat is one more chapter in a series of hybrid war attacks that Latin America has been suffering for a long time.
“Lawfare is the criminalization of people of political relevance, which in other times was done with persecution through judges and military dictatorships. Now the world has changed and colonialism, which is a productive capitalism that dominates the world productive apparatus”, he said.
He stated that an example of criminalization has been seen with Rafael Correa, in Ecuador; and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in Brazil.
At least 2,171 political prisoners
For his part, the defender of Human Rights, José Shulman, explained that there are currently at least 2,171 political prisoners, as a result of the measures carried out by the United States to attack the constitutional governments that exist in Latin America.
