The former Minister of Defense Agustin Rossi He maintained that there is a majority within the Frente de Todos block that “accompanies” the decision made by President Alberto Fernández in relation to the agreement with the International Monetary Fund and called for maintaining the “unity of the coalition.”

In that sense, the former minister maintained that “for the first time in history” Peronism governs “under the architecture of a coalition” and, therefore, these events “are experienced with great drama.”
Rossi referred in this way to the removal of Máximo Kirchner from the presidency of the FDT bloc in the Chamber of Deputies, in disagreement with the agreement reached by the Government with the IMF, and its replacement by Germán Martínez from Santa Fewhich was decided on Tuesday by the president Alberto Fernandez and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Serge Massaafter a series of meetings and negotiations that took place throughout the day.
“The President has been concerned with maintaining a fairly important balance within the coalition, but knowing that dissidence can be expressed and that is what has happened,” Rossi said.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that “Máximo Kirchner himself” expressed that he continues to work within the Frente de Todos as a deputy and that he “correctly” understood that he had to “free himself to be able to say what he thought and felt.”
“The most important thing is to continue with the unity of the coalition”he added.
“I take Máximo’s decision with sadness because I am very fond of him. The bloc’s presidency is a very sensitive place,” he added and stressed that “in the face of a transcendent issue, such as the negotiation with the IMF, he raised his different point of view and was clear about his position. He made a sad but correct decision to give the President freedom to choose a new head of the bloc,” he later stated in statements to Radio Provincia.
On the other hand, Rossi welcomed the appointment of deputy Martínez as the new president of the bloc in the Chamber of Deputies and stated that “he is very knowledgeable about parliamentary and chamber operations.”
“It is a very good decision by Alberto Fernández and he is going to be a very good president of the bloc. Surely he is going to fulfill the role that the President has asked of him, which is to build parliamentary consensus to accompany the government’s initiative,” he added.
In another order, Rossi was consulted about the legal case for the illegal espionage to the relatives of the ARA San Juan and, in that sense, said that “it is terrible and inhumane” and added: “When the State had to contain them, Macri decided to puncture their phone to get information from them.
