In the middle of last week, the senator for the Broad Front, Charles Carrera, filed a complaint with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) against the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, for harassment and persecution.
In his complaint, Carrera explains that the complaints filed for alleged acts of corruption in the agreement between the government of Luis Lacalle Pou, on behalf of the Uruguayan State, and the company Katoen Natie, when Heber was Minister of Transport; and for the number of homicides that have taken place during the term in which Heber has been in charge of public security.
The opposition legislator understands that, after denouncing the port incident, “curiously, the personal harassment and persecution actions begin, especially on the part of the Interior Minister, Luis Alberto Heber, former Minister of Transportation.”
downplayed it
Regarding this complaint, Minister Heber said that he has “more important issues to worry about” and downplayed what Carrera said.
“I have much more important issues to talk about and do than deal with an international complaint,” said the Secretary of State, according to a publication Telenoche.
