The National Commission of the Retirement Savings System (Consar) reported that the Afores Merida Fair 2022 served 5,773 people, of which 3,801 were personalized attention and procedures at the posts of the 10 administrators of retirement funds (afores) or one of the 13 government institutions that also attended.
Consar revealed that the most requested procedures were issues related to data updating, account status, pension procedures, withdrawal of total resources, Afore transfer, Afore account registration and voluntary savings deposits.
Some of the government institutions that were present at the Mérida 2022 Afores Fair, in addition to Consar, were the Condusefthe IMSS, ISSSTE, Fovissste, SAT, Welfare Bank and Civil Registry.
“The results of this First Regional Fair of Afores 2022 show the interest of the workers of the South-Southeast Region and strengthen the commitment of Consar and the Afores to continue promoting financial inclusion, pension education and the innovation of technological platforms that allow more Mexicans to get involved with their account to build a solid pension patrimony”, said the regulator of the Retirement Savings System.
It should be remembered that for the first time the Afores Fair was held in Mérida to provide information to people who live in Yucatán and in the southeastern region of the country because of the 70.8 million accounts registered in the SAR900,000 belong to people who live in the Yucatan peninsula, informed Iván Pliego Moreno, president of the Consar.
Consar also revealed that in the rest of the year will be held two other Regional Fairs. The first in Mexico City in the fourth week of July and in Monterrey, Nuevo León, during the second week of November.
The regulator highlighted the participation of visitors in the “Savings Corridor” where they planned investment goals through 16 life projects in the “The Adventure of My Life” module. In addition, the attendees interacted with the AforeMóvil application, the AforeWeb Internet page and the savings and retirement calculators. They also made deposits of Voluntary savings to your Afore account through Telecomm and the Welfare Bank.
Iván Pliego Moreno, highlighted during his presentations that until the workers take ownership of their Afore account, savings in individual accounts cannot be substantially improved. Therefore, the urgency of promoting the culture of savings and the importance of administrators in future well-being.
