Coronavirus: Cuba reports less than 30 infections this Monday

The number of new patients COVID-19 closed at 29 at midnight on Monday, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba through its usual daily report.

The part issued by the agency confirms that, since no deaths related to the disease occurred on the day, the number of deaths since the start of the pandemic remains at 8,529 for more than two consecutive weeks, which represents a fatality rate of 0.77 %.

Currently, 1,213 people are admitted, of which 1,006 are suspected of having contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus, another 31 under epidemiological surveillance, while the confirmed active ones dropped to 176.

Of the total, 20 were contacts of confirmed cases, eight were infected outside the country, and the source of infection of one patient could not be identified.

Regarding ages, 11 were under 20 years old; Five were between 20 and 29, another five were between 40 and 59, while seven were over 60 years old.

Nine provinces and the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality reported infections, but only Havana and Camagüey reached the figure of five positives.

The Minsap also reported the granting of 45 medical discharges.

Of the total number of people hospitalized, only three were treated in intensive care units, all reported as serious.
