Of the 19 secretariats of State that make up the cabinet of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the president has made adjustments in eight, that is, 44 percent of his first team of collaborators.

In just over three years, it has made at least 36 key adjustments for castings, appointments or resignations in secretariats, undersecretaries and agencies. Welfare, Semarnat and Finance and Public Credit are the ones that have had the most headlines in this government.

The adjustments began from the first four months of the administration with the resignation of Simón Levy as undersecretary of Tourism and later Germán Martínez to the general direction of the IMSS. The first changes in the secretariats were from the head of Semarnat, Josefa González Blanco, by Víctor Manuel Toledo, to later occupy the current secretary María Luisa Albores.

Another of the first changes was the departure of the Secretary of the Treasury Carlos Urzúa, succeeded by Arturo Herrera, and later by Rogelio Ramírez de la O.

Meanwhile, in Welfare, at the beginning of the six-year term it was María Luisa Albores who held the title, to later be relieved by Javier May -after the castling in Semarnat-, and since yesterday it is occupied by Ariadna Montiel, who, therefore, leaves the Undersecretary of Welfare.

Through social networks, Montiel thanked the President for his appointment and indicated: My commitment will continue to be as it has been until now, to work tirelessly for the well-being of the people and to achieve the profound transformation of our homeland..

Regarding the change in this unit, Roberto Gutiérrez, head of the Department of Economics of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa campus, highlighted the arrival of Montiel, considering that he has the necessary knowledge to fulfill this assignment.

He is a person who has learned a lot about the issue of precariousness, attention to poverty care programs, and I am sure that he will do a good job., he estimated, at the same time that he considered that his arrival is an opportunity for the organization to listen to opinions and criticisms that serve to improve its performance.

During the first three years of the federal government there has been a change in the Ministry of the Interior: Olga Sánchez Cordero returned to the Senate to become president of the legislative body, and the governor of Tabasco, Adán Augusto López Hernández, was appointed new secretary.

Alfonso Durazo left the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection to contest for the governorship of Sonora, which he won; Rosa Icela Rodríguez was named in this position. Also, the then Secretary of Public Education, Esteban Moctezuma, became Mexico’s ambassador to the United States, and Delfina Gómez was appointed in the SEP; In the Public Function, Irma Eréndira Sandoval was relieved by Roberto Saucedo, and Javier Jiménez Espriú left Communications and Transportation in his place, Jorge Arganis arrived.

Other areas where adjustments have been made are the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF), the Tax Administration Service, Indep, National Lottery, Ports and Marina, Conavim, Conapred and Conagua, as well as various undersecretaries.
