Santo Domingo. -President Luis Abinader delivered the national flag this Friday to the delegation that will represent the country in the Junior Pan American Games, to be held from November 25 to December 5 in Cali, Colombia.
In an act, held in the Hall of Ambassadors of the National Palace, the president handed over the tricolor banner and exclaimed: Long live the Dominican Republic!
For his part, the Minister of Sports Francisco Camacho, named the National Palace as “the home of the athlete of the Dominican Republic”, also highlighted everything that President Luis Abinader has done for sports and the delivery of resources on time for part of the Dominican government.
“I know that our athletes are well prepared and go strong to those games, but, above all, they go with the desire that the flag of the Dominican Republic flies at the top of Cali,” said Camacho.
Subsequently, Luis Chanlatte, head of mission, thanked the government for its determined support to Dominican sport and emphasized the resources provided, “78 million for the Tokyo Olympic Games and 135 million for the Junior Pan American Games, resources that were contributed in the month of January, establishing an unprecedented historical event in sport ”.
“The Dominican national anthem will sound permanently in these first Pan American Youth Games, our new conquests will be a source of joy for the Dominican people on Christmas Eve.”
He also said that these games are a new opportunity for young athletes and thanked the athletes, coaches, technicians and support staff for the hard work they have done.
The Dominican Republic will attend these games with a delegation of 188 athletes in 26 disciplines.
The first Pan American Junior Games, organized by Panam Sports (formerly Odecabe), aim to promote new generations of athletes, as well as to make visible new talents and support the development of sport in the youth categories through their participation in high-level events. scope.

Robert Jiménez expressed his gratitude to the president, after waiting 25 years for his house to be awarded to him, “remember each of the athletes, to reach high, we just have to hold on to God.”
