They shot and killed a young man from 23 years in the New Paris neighborhood in Montevideoreported Telemundo (channel 12) and confirmed police sources to The Observer.
The victim received three shots from a firearm and was transferred to the Cerro Coordinated Center where he died, the police reported.. He added that he had a criminal record.
The shooting attack occurred in the streets Emancipation and Guazucuá, where the young man lived. A witness told police that he saw two men on a motorcycle, and that the passenger fired. They both then fled the scene.
It is the second crime that occurred this Wednesday afternoon in Montevideo. The police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating another homicide that occurred in Casabó. After the event, the 21-year-old victim was taken to the Cerro Coordinated Center polyclinic by residents of the area, but she died hours later.
