Colombian company will invest US$ 5 million to develop software in Paysandú

The initiative that began last year will be located on the premises of the former Paylana. It is expected to have a workforce of 200 people.

The investment includes offices and a coworking site. In the first instance, Sofka will allocate US$500,000 for facilities and staff training. The remaining US$4.5 will be invested between the remainder of the year and 2024. This stage covers infrastructure, equipment and other reforms.

The mayor of Paysandú, Nicolás Olivera, recalled that the department in the 1940s bet on the industry. “Like all good things, they don’t always last forever and that began to close and Paysandú spent two decades looking for a new profile,” he told the news program.
