Given the events recorded last week, with the authorization of private channels to broadcast over the Internet, breaking Antel’s monopoly, the Single Telecommunications Union (Sutel) decided to change the characteristics of the strike on Wednesday 22 to 24 hours.
Antel officials will paralyze their tasks between 9 on Wednesday and 9 on Thursday in Montevideo and the Metropolitan Area and in the rest of the country they will do so from 0 to 24 hours.
The Executive Board of Sutel, after analyzing the authorization to provide broadband services to the firms Nuevo Siglo, TCC, Monte Cable, Praimar and Korfielsd (Cologne), expressed its “absolute rejection” since by means of a decree the monopoly is broken of Antel.
