Gustavo Petro Urrego, president-elect of Colombia, sent a speech this Sunday of union for the country, after having been elected with 11,281,002 which constituted 50.44%.
In the middle of his speech, Petro also mentioned the Attorney General of the Nation, Francis Barbosa; and to the Attorney General of the Nation, Margarita Cabello Blanco.
First, he said that the prosecutor should move on to release the young people who are imprisonedthis without referring to the First Line or any other specific group.

“How many people disappeared from the roads of Colombia and how many people died. How many young people chained and imprisoned simply for having hope,” he said.
Then he went on to ask Barbosa directly for the freedom of the young people who remain imprisoned. “I ask the Attorney General to free our youth. Free the young people,” he insisted.
On the other hand, the president-elect He asked the attorney Margarita Cabello to reinstate the mayors suspended in the middle of the campaign on the way to the elections this Sunday.
“I ask the Attorney General to reinstate the elected officials in their posts,” he said without mentioning –among others– the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero Calle.
Finally, Gustavo Petro said that, in Colombia after these elections, it became clear that “it is no longer a time for hatred.”
“This government that begins on August 7 is a government of life that wants to build Colombia as a world power of life”he added.

In recent days, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that 163 members of the group called the First Line have been captured. Jail was requested for several of its members. Hence, then, Petro’s call to the prosecutor was associated with the members of said group. Then he went on to ask Barbosa directly for the freedom of the young people who remain imprisoned.
