Residents of Villa Tunari give Minister Eduardo del Castillo a hard time

The Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, paid a visit to Villa Tunari (Cochabamba), to deliver vehicles to a technical institute. In the middle of the act, a group of neighbors broke in with posters in their hands that read the following phrases: “Drug terrorists out of Bolivia DEA”, “Out with the corrupt”, “Out with coup plotters from public institutions”, etc.

As it was known, the anger of the residents was because the minister “did not coordinate the visit with the bases” of said municipality.

“When the Minister of Government is summoned to inform the bases of the work he is doing, he does not arrive, and now that he is coming, he does not coordinate,” said Mateo Chambi, representative of the San Francisco Union in Villa Tunari.

“The charge is too big for you,” said another poster that a neighbor of the district 4 of the municipality of Villa Tunari.

Chambi noted that the minister’s arrival was not known, nor was the delivery of vehicles to the President Evo Morales Ayma Humanistic Technical Institute.

“We, as a San Francisco union, are upset. There is no coordination with centrals, nor with leaders, the arrival of the minister is a surprise for us. We are upset because on several occasions he was summoned to inform and coordinate the tropics, the federation, the six federations of the tropics and he did not arrive. But now he has arrived without consultation, that’s why he’s bothered, that’s why there aren’t even people, ”Chambi told Kawsachun Coca radio.

According to a journalist from Kawsachun Coca radio, Del Castillo had to quickly conclude the delivery of vehicles and leave the place, visibly upset by the protest, arguing that he had planned other deliveries in other municipalities in the tropics.

In a video of the act, when Del Castillo sees the people with the posters, he points out: “These messages that are being shown to us are totally false, the policies developed within the Ministry of Government they are emerging from a person who has left the Cochabamba tropics, who is our Vice Minister of Social Defense and Controlled Substances, Jaime Espíndola”.

The minister did not refer to these events on his Twitter account, although he did publish photos of the delivery of the vehicles and others sharing lunch with people from the area.
