Thousands of adolescents attended various venues yesterday for the application of the 2022 contest for Allocation to Higher Secondary Education in the Metropolitan Area of Mexico City. About 300,000 applicants seeking to attend high school are expected to participate.
With face masks, gel and trying to maintain interpersonal distance, for the third consecutive year the contestants participated in the evaluation process in the context of the pandemic, which
it had a lot of impact on our studies, but it also made us strongersaid Bárbara, who was accompanied by her mother, on the first day at a headquarters in the Santa María La Ribera neighborhood.
Rodrigo and América joined the hundreds of young people who after seven in the morning began to arrive at the facilities of the Colegio Latinoamericano de México.
They acknowledged being nervous about taking the test to occupy a place in the nine participating public institutions, among them, the preparatory schools and Colleges of Sciences and Humanities of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the high school campuses of the National Polytechnic Institute, as well as well as the General Directorate of Baccalaureate and the Colegio de Bachilleres, among others.
At home we made an effort to pay for the regularization course; it was 4 thousand 500 pesospoints out the mother of America, who, like Rodrigo’s parents, did
that investment to make him feel safer.
Study high school with distance classes
It was difficult, I did not always understand well what the teachers explained, and many topics were never covered in class, that is why we decided that I should attend the course.
Unlike other years, the adolescents, mostly 15 years old and older, have already been vaccinated against covid-19, which gave peace of mind to the families, who spent several hours in front of the headquarters from the first hours.
América, who wants to enroll in one of the UNAM high schools, went with her mother to the evaluation, after months of preparation.
I’m nervous, but also happy that today concludes a very stressful stage. I hardly slept last night because of my nerves, but I feel confident in my knowledge.
According to the call for the 2022 contest, the exams, which will be applied by the UNAM and the National Center for Evaluation of Higher Education (Ceneval),
they will be technically equivalent and will consist of 128 multiple-choice questions, which will exclusively address basic skills and knowledge related to the official secondary education study plan and programs.
