The Foreign Minister, Cesar Landaasserted that corruption must be investigated “wherever it comes from”, in accordance with the rule of law and the international treaties that Peru integrates.
“The fight against corruption in Peru is essential to strengthen the rule of law. And in response to the international commitments of the country in this matter, Corruption must be investigated, wherever it comes from, in accordance with due process and equality before the law”he wrote on his social networks.
It is necessary to remember that Landa Arroyo was president of the Constitutional Court between 2006 and 2008 and has been a member of the current Cabinet since February of this year.

Public Ministry summons Pedro Castillo
The minister’s statement comes after the National Prosecutor’s Office summoned the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, to testify next Monday, June 13 at 10:00 am, for the Puente Tarata III case, within the framework of the investigations carried out against him for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, aggravated influence peddling and aggravated collusion.
Through its social networks, the Public Ministry also requested the presence of the former Minister of Transport and Communications Juan Silva for this Monday, June 6 at 10:00 am, because according to the fiscal hypothesis, he would have been one of the main members of an alleged mafia within this sector.
The institution also cited former Transport and Communications Deputy Minister Fabiola Caballero and former adviser Alex Starost. Likewise, the presence of Víctor Valdivia and Edgar Vargas, who were members of the selection committee for the Tarata III bridge tender, was requested.
