Central Córdoba and Lanús tied tonight on Monday 3 to 3 in an emotional final match of the group stage of the Professional League Cup in which they developed very poor campaigns and thanks to this equality they managed to take off the last step of Zone 2 in which Rosario Central was plunged.
The people of Santiago had the game to ask for in the first half, since they were far superior to this alternative Lanús that arrived at the Único-Madre de Ciudades stadium, in Santiago del Estero, with their heads more focused on the South American Cup than on the present tournament.
Those led by Sergio Rondina were already winning 2-0 before the quarter of an hour with the goals of the Uruguayan striker Renzo López and the ex-Banfield midfielder, Nicolás Linares, and everything painted for a festive farewell for the Albinegros fans at this season closing.
But just 10 minutes later, the returned Ignacio Malcorra managed to discount with a right cross from the edge of the large area that stuck against the upper corner of the goal defended by the Chilean Cristopher Toselli.
Despite this goal, the people of Santiago did not seem to feel the blow and continued looking for the goal defended by Lautaro Morales, and after going so far they reached the third goal through a penalty scored by the former Defensores de Belgrano, midfielder Alejandro Martínez.
By then the match had already “chopped” quite a bit and in an act of irresponsibility the local striker Juan Cruz Kaprof, ex River, committed a violent and unnecessary foul in the middle of the field in the seventh minute of added time that was going to condition the walk your computer in the snap.
Kaprof had been an outgoing participant in Central Córdoba’s first goal with a luxurious clearance from “rabona” for Martínez, which ended in a cross from him for Renzo López to score with a header from the front.
And at the start of the second half, Lanús knew how to take advantage of that numerical superiority, since before 10 minutes he had already tied with goals from Diego Braghieri and José López.
Afterwards, both seemed to assert themselves in their circumstances and they no longer attacked each other as before, neither with the ball nor with their feet, and everything ended better than it had started, when both were last in their area.
The “garnet” closed his meager season without winning any game as a visitor, but on the other hand he leads Group A of the Copa Sudamericana. The Santiagueños, meanwhile, are still outside the relegation zone.
