The coordinator of the Psychiatric Ward of the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital explained that when the ward was closed, they were receiving outpatient care and the patients were given close follow-up.
As of Monday, the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital (HSMA) resumed the mental health service with a room for adolescent patients, which had been closed for almost four years.
Dr. Daniel José Alexis, coordinator of the Psychiatric Ward of that hospital, explained that when the ward was closed, he was being treated in an outpatient clinic and the patients were closely followed up.
He specified that in the San Miguelito area there is a high incidence of issues related to suicide. “This is a population that deserves specialized attention,” she warned.
