COE maintains eight provinces on green alert due to trough

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported today that it maintains eight provinces on green alert for possible flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, as well as urban and sudden floods.

The COE points out that said warning is due to a trough that continues to affect weather conditions, favoring the production of downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind.

The provinces on green alert are: Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, La Vega, Hato MayorMonsignor Nouel, San Cristóbal, Sánchez Ramírez and María Trinidad Sánchez.

Likewise, the prohibition of the use of spas and recreational activities in mountainous areas of the provinces that are under alert is maintained.

Holy Week

The Emergency Operation Center (COE), reported this Saturday that 12 people have died in the last 24 hoursdue to a traffic accident, of which eight were inside the security device and four outside it.

The information was given by Major General Juan Manuel Mendez, who read the second bulletin of the “Operative Awareness for Life, Holy Week 2022”

In the time already mentioned, 52 traffic accidents were reported, resulting in 51 people affected, of these 70 were on motorcycles, 18 light vehicles and one run over, of these incidents 29 were on highways and roads, 23 in urban areas.
