This is what the BPS brings to the market.
A figure that is around 12 Million Dollars per month is what reaches the department of Cerro Largo through the different benefits provided by the Pension Institute of our country.
Obviously, the figure varies according to the number of people who access the different benefits provided by the BPS, which are not only retirements and pensions but also family allowances and the different ranges of subsidies: illness, unemployment, maternity, etc.
As of last October, at a Dollar taken at a value in Pesos of 41.26, and according to the report given to the media by the Workers’ Representation Team headed by Carlos Clavijo, the department received about 12 Million Dollars while the Collection stood at USD 3,478,851.
At the end of the tenth month of 2024, out of a total of 90,000 inhabitants, 35,030 received some benefit from the Social Security Bank.
At that time, there were 29,286 contributing positions and 25,234 contributing people in the department.
The total number of retirements was 9,693, which represented an expenditure of USD 6,785,588; survivor pensions 5,154 for an amount of USD 1,698. 470; assistance pensions were 3,859 for a value of USD 1,499,889.
For other benefits, USD 2,016,053 entered the department of Cerro Largo, discriminated as follows: 607 Unemployment Subsidies (USD 339,484), 57 Maternity, Paternity and Care (USD 67,929), 15,051 Family Allowances (USD 786,916) and 609 Disease (USD 272,431).
By number of companies
In the department there were (as of October of last year) 6,665 private taxpayers.
The report makes a historical comparison from 2019 where there were 3,664 private taxpayers, in December 2022 that figure rose to 6,352, it continued to rise to December 2023 where there were 6,548 until reaching 6,665 last October.
The BPS invested 25 Million Pesos into the domestic market (11 Million in Illness Subsidies and 14 Million in Unemployment Subsidies).
