Two public officials were arrested for their alleged participation in planning acts of violence for political purposes, according to military sources.
The detainees are identified as Meudis Ángel Muñoz Hernández (messenger of the mayor’s office of the Catatumbo municipality, Zulia) and Dennys Aristides Muñoz Villasmil (municipal police of Catatumbo). These people were detained at the Citizen Service Point located in La Redoma del Conuco, Catatumbo municipality.
Meudis and Dennys were traveling in a Chevrolet C350 where they transported 570 liters of gasoline. The subjects showed a letter from PDVSA to justify the transfer of the fuel.
The officials seized two cell phones, which contained a group called “Justiciero Catatumbo 28 Julio”, where the call and participation in videos and conferences with María Corina Machado and Edmundo González are made.
In another procedure, the military rescued 26 citizens who were trying to leave Venezuela for Guyana in a balajú-type boat from Barrrancas del Orinoco (Monagas).
In this procedure, the military seized 600 liters of gasoline and detained two people identified as Antonio Rafael Ramlagan Ramrattan and Fernando Surai Persaud Dass, according to a report from the River Surveillance Detachment number 61.
