Delcy Rodríguez exalted Bolivarian thought

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, praised this Monday the legacy of virtues and thought of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, on the occasion of the 240th anniversary of his birth, as well as the importance of the libertarian feat in the Naval Battle of the Lake.

Likewise, the Executive Vice President commemorated the bicentennial of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, an epic event fundamental for the independence of Venezuela from the Spanish empire.

“200 years of the historic Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, a heroic feat that sealed our independence forever. In honor of the naval heroes, we celebrate the Day of the Bolivarian Navy; men and women who assume the commitment to safeguard the maritime sovereignty of the Homeland”, highlighted Rodríguez.

Likewise, he published an audiovisual material where Commander Hugo Chávez highlighted that the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo was “a heroic day, which definitively consolidated the independence of Venezuela and the birth of the Republic. This is precisely where the anti-imperialist character of the Venezuelan navy of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces comes from.”

Likewise, in the material audiovisual, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlights that this historical fact represents “the last significant vestige of the colonialist forces of the Spanish empire was thrown out of Venezuela, under the leadership of Admiral José Prudencio Padilla, who undertook his battle against the squadron of the Kingdom of Spain, capturing and destroying their ships, achieving the capitulation of the royalist army”.
