A man died from the hantavirus in Los Santos

According to the latest report from the Vector Control Department of the Los Santos region, the first death from hantavirus was registered in the Los Santos region.

This is a 75-year-old male from the district of Tonosí, who presented a complicated picture of Cardiopulmonary Syndrome due to Hantavirus.

With this death, the number accumulated since the infection was detected in 1999 in the province rises to 36.

The Department of Public Health Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health registers 19 cases of hantavirus in the Los Santos region to date, 12 correspond to Hantavirus Fever and 7 to Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome.
