It was learned that during the home search and seizure of Cuevas’ home, $3,000 in envelopes found. It transpired that his family announced that the money comes from the AFP withdrawal made by the governor.
The diligence, headed by prosecutors Arturo Muñoz Leyva and Ronald Márquez Saira, was not only carried out at the governor’s home. Too the premises of the Firme movement, the home of businessman Fernando Celso Guevara Flores, were raided and his uncle Camilo Próspero Flores Valdez in Carumas, as well as in the administrative offices of the regional government and others.

The purpose was to obtain information on the hiring of companies linked to Fernando Celso Guevara Flores, who was campaign manager for Zenon Cuevas. According to the investigation, various contracts would have been given to companies linked to Guevara and his relatives.
In order to access contracts, a company would have been created in the name of Flores Valdez in order not to arouse suspicion. This company would have obtained various contracts for different services.
Eight anti-corruption prosecutors, 50 police officers from the Dircocor of Moquegua, Tacna, Puno and Arequipa participated in the operation.
